Hello
Chelsea here! Thanks for checking out Chelsea Journeys and considering joining the 2024 Tokyo Drift Journey. This experience has been a long time in the making, and it's going to be one for the books!
My Story
My interest in Japanese language and culture was sparked by my paternal grandmother who was Japanese. When I got into Phillips Academy Andover, I seized the opportunity to study Japanese. With every new word and phrase learned, I came to be more and more fascinated with the language. By extension, my love for the culture grew.
In college, I got the chance to study at Doshisha University in Kyoto for a semester. There, I learned a lot about Japanese history and deepened my connection with the country. After college, I was determined to live in Japan long term. I applied for the JET Program to be an English Teacher in Japan. In 2019, was accepted and worked on the lovely countryside of Tokushima for 3 years. That was a marvelous time, but eventually I felt I was becoming stagnant.
In the summer of 2022, I decided it was time to move to Tokyo to pursue other things. I started an Instagram account in hopes of exploring my creativity, bringing Japan closer to those who aren't here and relating to those who are here. My account organically grew from under 2,000 followers to 25,000 followers in about a year.

My Commitment to You
I have always believed in the power of travel to open our minds and foster connections with others. I want my tours to be more than just trips, but experiences that stay with participants for a lifetime. That is why I chose to name the company "Chelsea Journeys"--I've journeyed, and now I meticulously create journeys to share with you.
My commitment to you is safety, comfortability and fun. I seek to enhance your life through exploration, learning and meaningful connections. I know traveling is as much of an emotional experience as it is physical, and I don't take that lightly. I look forward to taking you on a journey you carry in your heart and mind for life.
